Bubsy 4D got a demo for PC and its pretty smooth when it comes to gameplay. Many genuinely expect to find some issues as more people keep playing, as the nature of Bubsy is one of a broken franchise that could have had a better life. Ironically, Bubsy as a series has more soul than a lot of current triple A franchises who are stuck in the droning repetition of chasing trends and doing skin boxes with gacha mechanics and other abusive methods of cash extraction. We can really hope that Bubsy 4D saves us, which is something I cannot believe I have uttered about this franchise.
Bubsy 4D looks very epic
We still have to wait for the full release in 2026, but so far its looking pretty neat. It really feels as if they have put thought into the development of a proper 3D game instead of the disaster that was Bubsy 3D in PS1. Those who remember may be asking what could possibly go wrong with this one, but there’s still a ton of challenges that Fabraz needs to go through to ensure that this new indie can shine as a masterpiece and not be forgettable. Bubsy needs to abandon its conventional roots, only that way it can truly stand out like it never did.
I want to put my faith in this new game, mainly because an indie studio is behind it while Atari acts as a publisher. There’s still a ton of things that can possibly go wrong, but if many of us pray enough for them not to happen, maybe Bubsy 4D might become the savior of this industry. It is truly unexpected that Atari has decided to just become a decent game company for once, but there’s honestly worse enemies out there such as EA Games and Ubisoft.
