STALKER 2 has recently received a new patch titled 1.5 which overhauls several gameplay mechanics of the first person shooter while packing over 300 fixes and other quality-of-life changes. The major improvements made by the patch include reworks to STALKER 2’s A-Life system and making it a whole lot better than it has been since the game’s release.
Now all the characters in the Zone behave far more realistically for example they move around in the map and continue with their own routines and even engage with several activities on their own, making both the game world and it’s inhabitants more lively which adds to the game’s overall sense of realism. Also, characters won’t suddenly pop-in as they used to do previously, which makes them all the more believable and lifelike.
The A-Life system in STALKER 2 was one of the weakest parts of the game since it’s release but developer GSC GameWorld may have finally ironed out all of it’s shortcomings and made it significantly better in every way.
Patch 1.5 also brings some cool new additions to the game such as giving players the ability to loot mutant parts which wasn’t possible before without using a mod. The latest update also brings the Water Electric Tornado anomaly along with some new weapons, plus it also makes your stash window a bit bigger, making inventory management much easier now.
Developers have also made several performance improvements with the latest patch including fixing massive drops in FPS’ that sometimes took place when you were looking closely at in-game objects or while talking to NPCs. It also fixes slowdowns when multiple NPCs were opening doors at the same time besides making the game run more smoothly in areas with lots of conversations.
The patch also adds modding support in the game by coming with an official mod tool that can be accessed through the Epic Game Store, however it requires a colossal 700 GB of storage space if you choose to download it.
Overall the latest update in STALKER 2 makes it’s overall gameplay experience significantly better in many ways, check out all of the patch notes in the game’s official website.
