Turn Based RPG

Turn Based RPGs are the bread and butter of gaming. PC gamers know this well, as most of the early PC titles were actually RPGs. Wizardry is one of the oldest RPGs in the market, and it was pretty much the first PC game many people touched back in the early 80s. The genre has changed a lot, and with a ton of new titles comes new ways to play them. Steam has made their best to select the best Turn Based RPGs you can get in 2025, all of them at a huge discount. Here you will get a personal recommendation.

Turn Based RPGs return

I will use this opportunity to tell you about a little game called Wolfstride, this RPG is actually one of the best on its class. For those who were fans of the arena feature in Front Mission, its pretty much a comedy centered around mecha battling in an arena, with some very corny humor and overall a pretty well written plot. The aesthetics of this title are also supreme, and it truly shows that style triumphs over mere realism.

Many games should learn and take Wolfstride as an example, and it is a blessing that the Turn Based RPG Fest decided to feature this one. With the massive amount of indies coming out constantly, its easy to get lost in the sea of releases, and most of the time whether we like it or not, hidden gems end up lost. Wolfstride is one of those hidden gems you really need to play.

Its currently at 70% discount, but I would advise people to actually wait for when the sale is over. This game is truly worth every cent you put into it. If you are a fan of the mecha genre, and want a good game to play that can give you chuckle or two, this is the game for you.

Playground Games Confirms 15-to-20 Hour Campaign for Fable Reboot Playground Games has confirmed that the upcoming Fable reboot will feature a mainline story lasting between 15 and 20 hours. Speaking during a group press session at Gamescom 2026, associate game director Will Kennedy outlined the scope of the project, stating that the central questline is paired with a similar 15-to-20-hour block of side quests and open-world exploration. Beyond authored content, the developers emphasized that the title’s simulation and life systems allow for indefinite play depending on player investment. Full coverage of the interview context can be found in Polygon’s developer Q&A. This targeted duration keeps the reboot in line with the structure of Lionhead Studios' original trilogy rather than the massive scale of modern role-playing games. The 2004 original averaged roughly 12.5 hours for its main path, while Fable II and Fable III clocked in at approximately 13 and 13.5 hours respectively. By keeping the core path concise, Playground Games appears focused on density and narrative pacing rather than padding out the experience with mandatory filler. Community reception to the announcement has leaned positive, particularly among veteran players who prefer tightly structured campaigns over 100-hour commitments. As discussed in a active Reddit community thread, many players welcomed the focused runtime, noting that the series' signature alignment shifts and choice-driven paths naturally encourage multiple playthroughs. The game’s optional activities will include property ownership, local employment, and dynamic NPC interactions, extending gameplay well past the main story credits. Following previous delays, Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
