Jagex decides to keep the layoff trend going on, as more job positions get axed, the quality of whatever comes from the company diminishes. Jagex has been making controversial choices for quite a while now, years even, to the point that many PC gamers are infuriated with the current decisions made by them. Not only are they axing their own game thanks to greed, but they are cutting the livelihood of many people who have no place to go to. The game industry keeps being in shambles, and we at Infinite Start will report on those important facts.
Jagex does cuts for money
It can be assumed that the new RuneScape game that came out some weeks ago actually didn’t do all that well. Therefore, those who are in the chopping block might be people involved in game development too, despite them saying that most of them are just human resources and team leads. No matter what they say, these cuts are actually important ones, since the cohesion of a team can be lost of a key member is out of the game.
However, just like any other company, Jagex does not really care about what’s efficient or not, they only wish to be paid more. By making cuts, it is possible to inflate the value of a company, and make operations cheaper, by making them cheaper, you are of course making the quality tank with them too. We live in an era were gaming is about doing cuts and finding ways to squeeze lots of money from shoddy or average productions at best.
Dragonwilds does not feel that good, despite it being Jagex’s flagship title, but we also live in an era that flagship titles lack the quality they should deserve. Everything feels cheap, and thats because the job of people who create isn’t being respected by these executives.
