Nintendo forces harsh changes upon Palworld after lawsuit

Nintendo forces

Nintendo forces their way upon Palworld after scoring some unfair wins with patent trolling. As stated in some articles before, I take no sides on the situation. Nintendo is known for being a ruthless tyrant who wishes to take over the entire industry by using draconian measures. However, Pocket Pair is a known thief, a grift based studio that supports terrible Generative “AI” practices on the industry, which lowers the overall quality into the pits. Both companies are in reality our enemies, so we should be happy to see them fighting each other for once. We at Infinite Start will cover this ongoing debacle.

Nintendo forces unfair patents to win

A video essay about the topic can be found here and its honestly the most unbiased piece of media in the situation, it neither really defends any side, but explains the legal side of things instead. I would have loved that this wasn’t a battle for game mechanics, but rather for art assets being stolen, but Nintendo is going into things that hold more value for them, that is, the gliding mechanic being removed from Palworld. This would have never happened provided that Palworld never struck a deal with Sony, a rookie mistake really.

If you take into consideration the words of the CEO of Pocket Pair however, he himself is a blight to the industry as a whole. Claiming that imagination and creativity are only for those who are dumb, and favoring trends is the only way to go. This is corporate speech that favors the slow descent of gaming into the hodgepodge of slop that we know today. Supporting this sort of people harms the industry, yet, supporting Nintendo also threatens to squander creative approaches.

However, not everything in video games is merely a derivative, much like the Palworld zealots wants you to believe. There’s tons of space to innovate and create actual new stuff for once, just like in the 90s. However, this industry is the definition of risk averse.
