Square Enix has officially launched Dragon Quest 10 Offline on mobile devices, exclusively in Japan. The single-player adaptation of the 2012 MMORPG, previously available on consoles and PC, has now been made more accessible to fans with iOS and Android versions. For a limited time, the game and its expansion, The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally, are being offered at discounted prices.

Dragon Quest 10 Offline, first released in 2022, offers a streamlined version of the multiplayer original. It features a compact map and simplified graphics, making it better suited for solo play. The mobile release follows the game’s availability on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC.

As reported by Gematsu, the base version of Dragon Quest 10 Offline is currently priced at 1,960 yen ($13), increasing to 2,800 yen ($18) after January 28. The expansion is also discounted at 1,920 yen ($12) during this period.

Dragon Quest 10: The Western Waiting Game

Despite fan demand, Dragon Quest 10 remains one of the few mainline titles in the franchise not localized for Western audiences. Since its initial release on the Nintendo Wii, the MMORPG has received critical acclaim for its real-time combat, intricate job system, and accessibility for newcomers to the genre. However, Square Enix has shown little interest in bringing the game to Western markets, even as fans continue to voice their enthusiasm.

The release of a fan-translated version of the game’s story cutscenes in December 2024 highlights the enduring interest among non-Japanese players. Unfortunately, no announcements have been made regarding an official Western launch.

Dragon Quest remains a cultural phenomenon in Japan. Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age sold two million physical copies within two days of its 2017 release. Fans eagerly await the next mainline entry, Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, which is set to be the franchise’s first simultaneous global release, though no date has been announced. For now, Western fans can only look on as Dragon Quest 10 Offline expands its reach in Japan.
