Square Enix to Release More Games on Xbox Following Final Fantasy 14 Success

Square Enix is expanding its presence on Xbox, following the successful launch of Final Fantasy 14 earlier this year. This move comes after a period where Square Enix focused heavily on PlayStation exclusivity. Now, with Xbox’s growing market and the positive reception of Final Fantasy 14 on the platform, Square Enix is keen to strengthen its relationship with Xbox gamers.

Naoki Yoshida, director of Final Fantasy 14, stated in an interview with Eurogamer that “the release of this MMORPG on Xbox worked out well because the community responded positively.” He emphasized Square Enix’s shift to a multiplatform approach, aiming to reach as many players as possible. Yoshida said, “We do want to release more Square Enix games on Xbox, and there will be more of our titles released on Xbox.”

Fans can expect more titles from the Final Fantasy franchise, with Final Fantasy 16 likely to be one of the next big releases for Xbox. The decision to go multiplatform is also a strategic move for Square Enix, which aims to navigate the evolving landscape of AAA gaming.

With Square Enix’s renewed focus on a broader audience, Xbox players can look forward to a wider range of games from the publisher. This change is part of a larger trend within the gaming industry, where developers are increasingly looking to diversify their platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
