Capcom‘s recent venture, bringing Resident Evil 7 to iOS, has not yielded the expected results. According to reports, the game has only earned $28,140 since its launch, a stark contrast to the success seen on other platforms.

Data from AppMagic reveals that the free trial version of the game has been downloaded over 83,000 times. However, the conversion rate to paid customers is disappointingly low. Only about 2.4% of these users have made a purchase, resulting in under 2,000 sales.

The revenue generated from these sales is further reduced by Apple’s 30% cut, leaving Capcom with a modest sum. The poor performance of Resident Evil 7 on iOS highlights the challenges of porting console games to mobile platforms.

This underwhelming reception may be attributed to various factors, including the game’s suitability for mobile play and competition from other mobile games. The iOS version of Resident Evil 7 was anticipated to tap into a new audience, but the results indicate a mismatch between expectations and reality.

Capcom’s experience with Resident Evil 7 on iOS serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in mobile gaming. As developers continue to explore cross-platform releases, understanding the unique dynamics of mobile gaming becomes crucial for success.
