Yesterday, Mortal Kombat‘s Twitter account posted a rather interesting teaser hat suggests their next entry will be revealed soon.
Following this, various insiders started revealings what we can expect from the next Mortal Kombat.
Billbil-Kun, who has posted several accurate leaks in the past, notes the next title will be Mortal Kombat 1. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There will be three editions, a standard for $69.99 on PlayStation 5/Xbox, and $59.99 for Nintendo Switch, Premium for $109.99, and PlayStation 5/Xbox Series will have the chance to buy a $249.99 Kollector’s Edition.
Shortly after Jez Corden, who has also provided accurate information in the past, collaborated BillBil-Kun’s and added a bit more. According to their source it will be called Mortal Kombat 1, which will be a reboot of the first game. This much seems like a given based off the initial teaser tweet. It’s expected to launch Sept. 2023, and will have a character pass. One noted character is Peacemaker, along with the full article suggesting this might also include Homelander from The Boys.
While it will be interesting to see what is ultimately revealed, we already know Mortal Kombat 12 is in development and set for release this year. This was revealed by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, during an earnings call back in Feb. 2023.
