Far Cry 6 is nearly upon us, at less than a month away. With the time to launch whittling down, Ubisoft is ready to discuss what is awaiting players post-launch, and it’s more than the already announced villainous season pass content.
Let’s talk about the returning villains in the season pass for a moment. As we previously learned, three episodes will be coming to Far Cry 6 starring former antagonists Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed. We now have timeframes for their return to the spotlight.
Episode 1: Vaas: Insanity will be the first available premium DLC, arriving November 2021. Next up is Episode 2: Pagan: Control with a January 2022 release window. Finally, the Far Cry 5 baddie will reappear March 2022 in Episode 3: Joseph: Collapse.
For those uninterested in dishing out the extra cash for the premium content tied to the season pass, there is still plenty coming your way after the base game’s October release. The free post-launch content plans for Far Cry 6 are brimming with crossover missions.
This December, Dani and Danny will be teaming up in a a taco-fueled adventure across the island of Yara. Confused? Protagonist Dani Rojas will be joined by Danny Rojas (complete with a machete) as they violently remove all obstacles standing in their way of delivering tasty Trejo’s Tacos. That overview was just as weird to type as it was to watch in the announcement trailer, which is embedded below.
Come February 2022, our lead guerrilla fighter is going all-out Rambo in Rambo: All The Blood. One month later, in March, a Stranger Things crossover mission called The Vanishing will join the wild post-launch lineup.
Crossovers are no stranger to Ubisoft games. One need only look to their recent Ghost Recon titles to see how they have been peppering their notable IPs with various crossover events. In regards to more standard content, weekly HVT elimination Insurgencies and six snatch-and-grab Special Operations will be available at no additional cost. The latter of the two will kick off at launch with two maps, Mesozoico and Maceo; the remaining four have not yet been given a set date.
You can read all about these post-launch plans from Ubisoft themselves on their news hub. Or you can simply watch the announcement trailer here.
Far Cry 6 will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia on October 7th.
