Fans of Xenoblade Chronicles rejoice, rumors suggest Xenoblade Chronicles 3 isn’t just in development but nearing completion.
This rumor began roughly two years ago, with it only recently coming to light. The first known mention of a possible third entry happened in an interview between Din’s Meteorite, YouTuber, and Jenna Coleman, notable actress and voice of Melia. During the interview she alluded to returning to Xenoblade Chronicles a third time.
God, when was the first game? Ten years ago? It was a long time ago, I did it pre-Doctor Who days and when they did they second one , they asked me to come back. And I think they’re going to do another. Common knowledge? Don’t know. Yeah, I think they’re going to do another. Not sure if I’m allowed to say that.

As the story continued to gain heat, Imran Khan, Fanbyte’s News Editor, reported on it and noted his undisclosed sources confirmed Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is in the works, with it apparently in the final stages of development.
Kahn went on to explain his sources tell him the trilogy ends far in the future, with few characters returning. Of those returning, he did note Melia would be present and likely why Coleman was aware of it.
Supposedly the title was planned to be revealed earlier this year but due to the pandemic and difficulty optimizing lead to it being revealed later. It still might be revealed this year but no guarantee.
While we can’t confirm Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is in the works, it makes sense given the success of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Hopefully we will see it soon and it will give the trilogy a nice ending.
