If you’re playing Battlefield Redsec, you’ve probably found the Marauder to be a bit imbalanced cause of it’s overpowered nature in terms of both it’s protective ability and turret firepower which can make any combat situation a bit one sided. But thankfully, DICE has decided to remove the vehicle from Battlefield Redsec and it will be replaced by other transfer vehicles till the devs make the necessary adjustments and puts it back at some point in the future. Here’s what the devs said recently in an official post:
“Removing the Marauder from Battle Royale We have removed the Marauder vehicle from Battle Royale. We’ve seen the impact it has on the matches, with the armor and its effective turret being too impactful. This is reflected by your feedback, as well as our internal metrics, and we made the decision to remove the Marauder for now and replace it with the other transport vehicles in the Battle Royale pool. We’re looking at adjusting the Marauder and bringing it back in a future update.”
However, players of Battlefield Redsec are currently a bit mixed with this decision and while some agree with the devs, some suggest blowing up the Marauder in matches quickly would’ve been a more suitable solution.
Battlefield Redsec is also on it’s way to get a completely solo mode which will put the online Battle Royale experience on par with Call of Duty: Warzone and other titles of it’s ilk.
It’s also important to remember that free-to-play, battle royale modes like Redsec essentially serves as a springboard to Battlefield 6 by giving the casual FPS playerbase a taste of the core Battlefield experience. It features several hallmark design elements of the Battlefield series such as vast and expansive maps that reward tactical playing, immersive and realistic FPS action by means of fully destructible environments and more to gradually draw the non-Battlefield players into the mainline entries.
