One of the staple game modes in the WWE 2K series of titles is the MyRise or the campaign mode which allows you to create your own wrestler and take him through a long and storied journey to the top of the business. And this year’s upcoming WWE 2K26 will be adding a few interesting twists into the overall experience of this mode which will make it far more replayable and unpredictable than it has even been in the past titles. In a recent interview with TechRadar Gaming, WWE 2K26 lead narrative designer Sean Conaway shared details on the game’s MyRise mode and how it’ll shape your experience in a never-before-seen way for the franchise.
First off, the storyline for this year’s campaign is called “The Comeback” where your created superstar is returning to WWE after a long hiatus, which is quite similar to the real life career of CM Punk, who is also the focus of the Showcase mode in WWE 2K26. Your character will be named “The Archetype” and will be involved in a storyline with Paul Heyman whose main client in the game will be either Bron Breakker or Jordynne Grace, depending on the gender you’ll chose to play in the MyRise mode.
Interestingly, Heyman is aligned with Breakker in WWE right now but according to Conaway, it was their idea of putting them in the game before it happened in the real life show: “We work so far ahead from WWE that we kind of have to look in our crystal balls and try to forecast as best as we can who we think is going to be hot a year from now,” he said.
Also, it’s confirmed that even though the main structure of the campaign will be the same whether you play as a male or a female wrestler, there will be some key differences in how the story plays out depending on some of the decisions of you make and the division you’re playing through.
WWE 2K26 is slated to release on March 13 worldwide and you can pre-order your favorite edition of the game right now across all platforms.
