One of the standout features of last year’s WWE 2K25 was it’s open world The Island mode which was a first ever for the popular wrestling series of games and was available exclusively on the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The mode offered players whole new challenges, to compete with each other on ‘live events’ and more, all while taking their own custom character created through the game’s MySuperstar mode.
And if you’ve enjoyed the mode in last year’s WWE title, you’ll definitely be glad to know that The Island is coming back to this year’s WWE 2K26 as well, in a revamped way with an original story that picks up right after the ending of previous year’s game. According to Insider Gaming, WWE 2K26’s The Island mode will be centered around a power struggle taking place among three factions on the Island of Relevancy as Roman Reigns is no longer the Tribal Chief. And based on the available info out there for the upcoming title, one of those factions will be called the Order of Anarchy.
Hopefully the mode will now be accessible to players on the PC platform as well which would definitely take cross play to new levels of fun and immersion in WWE 2K26.
The most ambitious entry in the long running series, WWE 2K25 was met with fairly positive reviews upon release with critics praising the numerous gameplay improvements and the overall number of tweaks that was implemented to make it stand out from it’s predecessor. Boasting the largest roster the series has ever seen till date with over 300 Wrestlers, WWE 2K25 also had a total of 5 DLC packs with each bringing lots of contents and playability to the game.
WWE 2K26 is expected to launch sometimes in March and based on everything we know about the upcoming title, there will be four new match types plus CM Punk as the focus of the Showcase Mode.
