WWE 2K26 is this year’s entry in the highly popular wrestling series of games which is set to release in March 2026 and according to Insider Gaming, the upcoming game’s Showcase mode will feature none other than CM Punk.
The Showcase mode in the previous WWE 2K titles essentially acted as sort of mini-documentaries which let the players recreate many iconic and historical WWE matches while also giving a chance to experience many ‘what-if’ matches that could potentially alter the state of world wrestling as we know today. Previous games’ Showcase mode had featured matches from legendary wrestlers such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena and many more, however it seems WWE 2K26 will take a different route and focus solely on CM Punk.
According to sources close to the game, WWE 2K26’s Showcase mode will be narrated by Punk himself and will include three types of matches where the first one lets players relive several of Punk’s favorite matches throughout his career. Then there are ‘What-If’ matches that focus on events that would’ve likely happened if CM Punk hadn’t left the company for many years back in 2014. And lastly, there will be fantasy matches where Punk would face opponents who he never actually got to for different reasons throughout his career in WWE.
The most ambitious entry in the long running series, WWE 2K25 was met with fairly positive reviews upon release with critics praising the numerous gameplay improvements and the overall number of tweaks that was implemented to make it stand out from it’s predecessor. Boasting the largest roster the series has ever seen till date with over 300 Wrestlers, WWE 2K25 also had a total of 5 DLC packs with each bringing lots of contents and playability to the game. Besides all of that, last year’s WWE title also celebrated John Cena’s farewell with a different version of the game on all platforms that featured several alter-egos of the iconic wrestler.
