The PlayStation Plus monthly games for January 2026 has been confirmed and includes titles such as Need for Speed: Unbound, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Core Keeper and these three titles will be available to all PlayStation Plus members from January 6 till February 2. Also, Playstation Plus members have until January 5 to get all the December’s games as well so if for some reason you’ve missed out on last month’s titles, you will still be able to add them to your library by that time.
The December Games for Playstation Plus members include titles such as Lego Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada, and Neon White.
And among all the titles available in the subscription service this month, Need for Speed: Unbound stands out as it provides all racing enthusiasts a way to try their hands into the last NFS title so far, before the franchise took a hiatus as developer Criterion was assigned to the development of Battlefield 6. The decade-old racing franchise was definitely showing signs of fatigue at this point and Unbound showcases all of those aspects, including the highs and the lows of the series, and why it did need some time off after all these years.
Aside from the game’s standout graffiti-inspired visuals, the best part of Unbound is it’s pure sense of thrill and speed which reminds us that it can still deliver the unique feeling of an NFS title that you won’t find anywhere else in the genre. However, it’s poor racing progression, lackluster story mode and downright frustrating cops seriously drag this promising title down, by a lot. The Cops were easily the trickiest part in it’s predecessor NFS: Heat but they still brought a genuine sense of relief everytime you actually beat them but in Unbound, they’re pretty much broken and offer what seems like a fundamentally unfair experience, especially during the first parts of the game.
But make no mistake, Unbound still makes for a memorable and worthwhile racing experience, even more so as part of the latest bundle for the Playstation Plus service so if you haven’t experienced it already, now would be a great time to do so.
