One of the worst things that could happen when you’re trying to outdo your rival franchise is getting accused of copying said rival video game series in some ways, which is exactly what’s happening right now with many players blaming Battlefield 6 regarding a new skin that comes with the latest Battlefield Pro battle pass. The skin in question for Battlefield 6 has a few visual elements that have quite a bit of a similar design choices to that of a much older Call of Duty title named Ghosts which was released back in 2013.
The ‘Objective Ace’ skin, which comes with the Battlefield Pro battle pass, has a balaclava as part of it’s design and it contains some striking similarities with the memorable ‘Ghosts’ balaclava from the 2013 Call of Duty title. And while they aren’t completely identical, but they sure share enough similarities for fans of the Call of Duty title to notice those, and to likely have issues with the skin. Players have also drew comparisons in social media which is definitely not a good look for Battlefield 6, especially after getting a surefire lead on their rival franchise this year which was still unthinkable even 6 months earlier.
Hopefully EA manages to remove the skin entirely or do something that eases off the player base, cause although a particular skin can’t really have too much of a negative impact on the overall experience in any meaningful way, it’s still something that Battlefield 6 can easily do without.
Battlefield 6 has built an incredible momentum last year and the upcoming roadmap for the current year which promises a steady stream of exciting in-game contents, could lead to an even bigger surge in it’s player base, provided the game doesn’t shoot itself in the foot with stuff like these or the usage of AI generated contents in it’s artwork which it was also accused of last month.
