Developer CD Projekt RED’s seminal open world odyssey Cyberpunk 2077 and 2015’s The Witcher 3, which is widely considered as one of the greatest modern RPGs out there, both had received massive discounts on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop this week. For example, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition which includes the acclaimed Phantom Liberty Expansion, was priced at 75% off it’s regular price making the $69.99 game available just for $17.49 which is a steal of a deal in every way.
CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3: Complete Edition received a hefty 75% discount as well and needless to say, both games saw a surge in sales on the Nintendo platform with a lot of gamers taking advantage of the sales. Also, the fact that the discounts came at the holiday season helped further with the sales as both titles offer delightful ways of spending the next few days wrapped in gaming.
However, CD Projekt has just corrected both prices with an official announcement on their social media, stating the following:
“The discounts for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition displayed on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop in the Americas on December 22, 2025 were incorrect.
The situation is a result of an error we made when submitting the discount. We have corrected the error and new discounts have now been applied.
Purchases made at the previous discount rate are unaffected by this change.”
As expected, CD Projekt’s new statement is received fairly well by the players given the studio has honored all the purchases made during that time which is a rarity cause a lot of other companies may have downright cancelled the orders which really shows how much the developer values the gamers and the fans alike which is pretty great.
However, if you want to get into either Cyberpunk 2077 or The Witcher 3, the current Steam Winter Sale as well as the ongoing Winter Sale from Fanatical provide huge discounts for these amazing titles, so make sure to check those out.
