Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 director defends Larian AI usage

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

It is unexpected, but the director of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has defended Larian’s use of Generative “AI” in a terrible twist of fate. PC gamers are now angry at the company who used to be on our side, but when you look back on the history behind it they have been involved in some dubious things. Always staying neutral when it came to complex topics, this is the first time the kettle blows the lid by revealing new information in the process. Seems like we are heading towards a new era of gaming that is more similar to the one from the 2010s, in fact we never really left that era.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 might have used GenAI

This is merely a supposition of mine, but at the same time I’m glad the studio behind this game didn’t win a single prize at the game awards. The fact that someone jumped to defend Generative “AI” usage in the first place is a huge red flag that paints a bad image to the general public. These double A studios are starting to act more like triple A studios because they have been contaminated by the same greed that plagues EA games or most western game studios. I still cannot believe that the director of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 did this, but the reality is that.

Sometimes heroes live long enough to become villains themselves, and those we used to like eventually decide to move on and become the things we hate. This happened with Square Soft when it became Square Enix, now they are sinking deep in the pits of greed due to their decisions. Dark times are ahead for the game industry, and perhaps people should stop playing new game altogether, retro is always there for us and it was made with tons of soul unlike Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
