Capcom has released Title Update 4 for Monster Hunter Wilds. This update introduces the powerful Elder Dragon Gogmazios and includes several important technical and content changes designed to improve the game experience. This update is the largest effort since the game launched. It aims to fix performance issues that have affected players, especially on PC, while enhancing the endgame.
The main feature is the addition of the massive Elder Dragon, Gogmazios. Players who have reached Hunter Rank 100 and finished the mission “An Ancient Resting Place” can now take on this challenge. The difficulty level increases with the upcoming release of Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad in a future Event Quest. Additionally, 9★ tempered monsters, such as Tempered Rathalos, have been added to the game’s roaming ecosystems. The patch notes also mention two new story missions and changes to quest timers for multi-target investigations, allowing for longer, more thoughtful hunts.
Besides the added challenges, several quality-of-life improvements have been made. Three new Support Hunters—Griffin (Great Sword), Nightmist (Light Bowgun), and Nadia—are now available to help players on quests, enhancing the solo hunting experience. The bases and facilities will also receive festive updates with the Festival of Accord seasonal event. This event will run from December 19, 2025, to January 14, 2026. During this time, there will be temporary changes to the Grand Hub, the Canteen menu, and the Handler’s outfit. Players will also find new options at the Smithy for Gogma Artian Weapons and Transcendent armor upgrades.
Importantly, the update focuses on technical improvements. Capcom has made significant optimizations for CPU and GPU performance across all hardware. They have identified over 100 specific performance enhancements targeting processing time, collision detection, and overall system load. This technical emphasis, along with various weapon balance adjustments—including buffs to the Great Sword, Sword & Shield, and Bow—shows a commitment to developing the game into a more stable and mechanically diverse experience for the community.
