Warhammer Survivors is clearly Vampire Survivors, it even uses the engine made by poncle himself. Down to the same graphic style, to the point one wonders why this wasn’t some sort of collab with Vampire Survivors instead. Regardless, fans are extremely surprised and intrigued with this weird announcement, and some are considering getting their hands on it when the new year comes out. This game will release in 2026, and it will have to garner a ton of curious eyes to become a success, I genuinely didn’t expect this to be a thing but here we are, we got a literal clone in every sense of the word.
Warhammer Survivors surprised everyone
To think a big name like Warhammer would have to resort to the work that an indie developer did is rather unthinkable, but we live in an industry where everything can happen. There’s tons of variability and unpredictability in the air, to the point it becomes complicated to keep up with everything that has been going around. However, using the engine of a small indie developer who makes thinks for fun is rather wild, especially when it is a big corporation holding such an IP like Warhammer.
Warhammer Survivors looks different but plays exactly the same, down to the item behavior in most cases, if what the trailer shows is true then this is pretty much what a Warhammer expansion would look like if Vampire Survivors ever had a crossover with this franchise. We already had Contra, SaGa and even Castlevania in the bag, so it would have been logical for Warhammer to jump in but no, it does not work it seems. Warhammer Survivors however, being its own thing, might have the possibility to do crossovers with other franchises perhaps. We don’t know, we only know that this game is going to be very familiar.
