Condemned Criminal Origins has been delisted from Steam. PC gamers are angry at the fact that they just cannot buy a classic on the platform anymore, and at the same time this is quite the disrespectful 20th anniversary for the game ever. There’s no reason to remove classics from the store aside from greed or legal issues and so far we don’t really have a clear reason as to why this happened. The only thing that this accomplishes is making people more reliant on piracy, and if people wishes to curve that issue then perhaps they need to offer better solutions.
Condemned Criminal Origins is removed
Condemned Criminal Origins is lauded by many as one of the best horror games available and it was one of the greatest titles in the Xbox 360. Classics like this deserve to be respected, but it seems that we can’t have nice things in today’s gaming world. Each time someone delists a game from the Steam store, the only thing they accomplish is telling people to go and buy it from shady resellers or get it by other means. Sometimes they only do it to push for a remaster that is broken compared to the original.
Some even say that having the old game is confusing for gamers, and that’s one of the worst excuses ever said in the industry. People can distinguish between the original and the new one, especially if one says remastered and the other doesn’t. Some are suggesting the reason why Condemned Criminal Origins has been removed is because the rights belong to another entity, a person who might be planning to bring the series back in some capacity. Still, this is not the best way to go around this problem, keeping the game up on Steam should be an utmost essential for preserving it and giving a good avenue to get it.
