Clover Pit is shaping up to be the next Balatro thanks to its amazing success. This new PC game is shaping up to be the next big trend that takes over the indie gaming market, and perhaps there will be a lot of clones behind it, waiting to take a bite of the cake that the Clover Pit devs painstakingly made. Thankfully, it seems that copycats aren’t really experiencing success when it comes to riding waves, and we are beginning to see a decline when it comes to shameless ripoffs for now. We can only hope that things start healing in the indie games industry, because the “AI” shock has already caused too much damages to creators of every kind.
Clover Pit is another success story
Balatro was extremely addictive, and it seems that Clover Pit decides to follow the same formula when it comes to having that level of addictive gameplay. It wouldn’t be a surprise if a casino company tries to come up towards Panik Arcade to see if they can get ahold this idea similar to what happened with the developer of Balatro. Of course, morality tells us that similar to how LocalThunk reacted to the offer, refusing to comply, Panik Arcade will follow the same steps and remain ethical, they are aware of how addictive their game is.
Gameplay loops with randomized runs and huge numbers are the dream of people who have that innate gambling demon in them, willing to risk everything to keep getting that number higher, as if it were the last goal they have in their lives even. In a way, it makes sense, in Clover Pit your life depends on you being able to rig the machine and win against it, along with discovering the mystery of why things are the way they are. If you still didn’t buy Clover Pit, you should really do so, or at least wishlist it.
