As announced recently, the next entry in the Forza Horizon series of racing titles will take place in Japan which is perfectly aligned with the series’ penchant for racing in exotic places. After taking place in the UK for Forza Horizon 4, Mexico in Forza 5, the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 will take the players to Japan which is another extraordinary place with it’s distinct vibes and characteristics which will greatly add to the overall racing experience in unique ways.
Developer Playground Games has also confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will feature the biggest map ever seen in the series, along with a host of activities for players to engage in. In a recent interview with Gamesradar, Art Director Don Arceta has said that Forza Horizon 6’s Japan will not just be bigger than anything that came before in the franchise, but will also be packed to the brim with a wide range of gameplay variety.
“Like, obviously, we can’t go bigger without filling it with things to do and see,” Arceta stated. “And I think this map that we’ve created for Japan, or Horizon’s version of Japan, is big, but also dense. There’s always something around the corner for you to discover and see. But yeah, it’s bigger. I won’t put a number on it. It is bigger.”
He also added that Tokyo City, which is probably going to be the central hub in Forza Horizon 6, will have it’s own flavor and charm as a vibrant backdrop to all the racing that’ll be in the game:
“I think people will be most surprised about the city, Tokyo city, because I think it is probably our most ambitious,” he added. “It’s really layered and complex. And I think players will just enjoy that space. It’ll be something new and fresh.”
It clearly seems that Forza Horizon 6 will bring the land of Japan to life in exciting ways, along with making room for tons of new racing features that will utilize the mountains of Japan in spectacular fashion.
Forza Horizon 6 is expected to release sometimes in 2026.
