Blizzard Entertainment has officially announced the long-awaited collaboration for Diablo 4’s Season 10. This crossover event features its own well-known real-time strategy franchise, StarCraft. The event starts on September 26 and runs through October 10, offering a variety of cosmetics from the Koprulu Sector in the world of Sanctuary. This collaboration continues a trend for the publisher, bringing together two of its most beloved franchises.
The main focus of this content release is a series of premium cosmetic sets available in the in-game cash shop. These sets are designed to fit StarCraft characters with the six Diablo 4 classes. Notable items include the “Rebel Marshal” Barbarian armor inspired by Jim Raynor, the “Overqueen of the Swarm” Necromancer set based on Zagara, and the “Queen of Blades” set for the Spiritborn class, reflecting Sarah Kerrigan. Rogues will get the “Dark Prelate” Zeratul set, while Sorcerers and Druids will take on the look of High Templar Tassadar and Infested Tychus, respectively. The premium content also offers auxiliary items, such as a Zergling Mount and a Hydralisk Companion.
While much of the crossover is premium, Blizzard has made sure that players can get some themed items for free. This collaboration includes a range of free weapon transmogs and faction Emblems that players can claim directly from the in-game shop during the first three days of the event. These items will be unlocked sequentially and available until the event ends, featuring Terran, Protoss, and Zerg themes. Additionally, a new Twitch Drop campaign will allow players to earn more faction Emblems by watching participating Diablo 4 streamers for certain cumulative periods.
This focus on an internal Blizzard crossover for Season 10 follows previous seasons that featured partnerships with outside franchises, like the popular Berserk collaboration. Even with ongoing requests from parts of the community for more non-Blizzard IP integrations, this event offers a rich celebration of the company’s shared universe and legacy. For fans of both the dark fantasy action RPG and the sci-fi RTS, the limited-time nature of this collaboration allows a unique opportunity to turn their demon slayers into characters from the epic conflict between Terran, Protoss, and Zerg forces.
