Jump Space seems like quite the innovative proposal for PC gamers right now. The new title offers an interesting co-op mode that allows people to complete missions together by fighting against a varied NPC crew. This game is clearly a live service title, but having a focus on cooperative gameplay instead of competitive can help set it apart from its competitors, it seems that many companies are going all in for these types of games nowadays. This one, being an early access, also has the possibility to never come out if it does not get enough funding, will Jump Space jump start a new craze?
Jump Space is currently on Early Access
There’s still no info on when they will get out of the early access period, pretty much like always, while the team behind believes that 5 months would be the sweet spot, even they aren’t sure of how much time it will take to fully fund this and tweak it in such a way that becomes a game people wish to play. Players are picky right now, and rightfully so, with the amount of live service games invading the market, most of them undesired, people are trying to rely on the indie scene to get some real gaming going on.
The people behind Jump Space seem to have put a ton of love into crafting the game so far, but as always, its important to be wary of whatever classifies as an early access title. While requirements have gotten more strict over time, you can never know when someone can game the system and run away with the cash of others. There has been cases of games that have been in perpetual early access, only to never come out despite people buying it during this period, but it does not seem like Jump Start will be that kind of game.
