Dune: Awakening’s New Patch Fixes Big Issues

Start with the basic building block of all narrative

Funcom’s big hope game, Dune: Awakening, just got a new patch, called version 1.1.17.0. This update brought a lot of key fixes and big changes, mostly to make playing alone against the game (PvE) much better. The team behind it first brought it out on PC on June 10, 2025, and plans to bring it to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. They keep making the game better, showing they hear what their growing number of players say.

A main part of this update is how much land you can build on in the Deep Desert’s PvE areas. Starting from July 29, after the big Coriolis Storm, there will be more Rock Island spots to use. This is a big deal because it gives players more places to set up safe spots for keeping stuff safe and lasts for a long time in the tough world of Arrakis. The team did this because players said there were not enough good spots to set up a good base.

The patch also deals with a big problem: vanishing vehicles. Players who go deep into the Desert were having trouble with their flying machines, called ornithopters, vanishing if their game connection dropped when they got out of them. Now, the new patch 1.1.17.0 helps stop these drops. And if it still happens, the ornithopters will come back near the player. Funcom also gave back to players who lost their vehicles or bases, which shows they really want to fix these problems.

More fixes make the game itself and the connections to the game better, which helps everything run smooth. The update also stops cheating ways to get points fast and copying items where players meet, making sure everyone has a fair shot. As Dune: Awakening keeps changing, these many updates in July show Funcom really cares about making the game and player time better, even as they work on player-vs-player parts too.
