Falcom President has confirmed that more Ys games are being made. It truly is a good time to be a PC gamer, especially with a series that accompanied us for so long since the PC88 era. Ys has been with us for eons, truly a legend of gaming and an underrated classic for many. The vast majority of gamers nowadays are too stuck playing Live Service titles to remember the amazing games that Falcom brought to us. Perhaps its time for many of us to return to the good old roots of retro gaming when Stop Killing Games inevitably changes the market. We at Infinite Start will cover this announcement.
Falcom President says yes to Ys
We will have a different version coming for some games, with Ys X Proud Nordics coming in August. The original release frame for Ys X Nordics was actually catastrophic, the game was quite broken and it didn’t work for quite a while, to the point there had to be some refunds and apologies going on. It is rare for Falcom to do something like this, especially with the pristine track record of releasing immaculate games for decades, but this is what happens when the industry is ran on speculation rather than loving the art you do.
There is a big possibility, that the main Ys project that they are trying to do is a remake for Ys V, a game that not only many fans are wanting back due to the lack of ports of Ys V, but even people at Falcom themselves desire to see it too. Falcom President Kondo wants to see that happen someday, especially before he retires from the company, it would be a last gift from him to all fans of the Ys series. Perhaps this is what they are implying aside from the obvious Ys X Proud Nordics release.
