Machine Games cancelled an unannounced project in 2025

Machine Games, the studio behind Wolfenstein, seems to have cancelled an unannounced game that would have dropped on PC. There’s still no proper data as to what the game was, but many seem to assume this might have been another title in the Wolfenstein series. Others assume it might have been something that got merged with Doom The Dark Ages, but that seems unlikely. There’s not enough space for multiple big games to hit the market, if that were to happen, some would go unnoticed just like how the 90s went. We at Infinite Start will cover what this could mean for the developers.

Machine Games cancels vaporware

Vaporware is the slang term used to define games or software that does not seem to exist, we do not have info as to what the game was factually, so it can be classified as that, just vaporware. Its weird that no leaks have occurred that can show us what was being cooked, especially with the leakers we have today. There’s plenty of good information around the internet, and leaking has become more reliable as time went on but, no information exists for this case.

As for the fate of the developers, perhaps they were veterans who still work at Machine Games, but cancellations like this often lead to unemployment. Most of the time, job cuts aren’t announced cause it would make the company look like a bad guy, this seems to be the case with a lot of things in the industry. The truth eventually comes out to light, so there’s no use in hiding what was happening behind closed doors.

A messy example to this was Ubisoft, things got so bad there that developers who were victims of abuse from the CEO and other high ranks opened up about the situation. Thankfully it seems that the situation for Ubisoft, unlike Machine Games, is a dire one.
