Ahead of it’s arrival on the PC platform on 11th June, the Steam version of Stellar Blade has been blocked in over 120 countries for reasons that are currently surprising even to the developers themselves.

Shortly after the devs announced the release window of the PC version for Stellar Blade, a number of fans replied with screenshots showing the game currently not available in their regions. Shift Up promptly responded by confirming that the game does not require a PSN account to play, however they too, appeared surprised at the 2024 action adventure title’s unavailability in all those countries. And so far, there has been no official statement as to why the game’s PC release is currently blocked in over 120 countries including Egypt, Vietnam, Estonia, Cuba and many more.

One of the possible reasons for the block is perhaps due to PSN account being optional in Stellar Blade as most of the countries where the game is currently blocked is also where Sony’s PSN is unavailable. Though there are speculations that the block is actually due to the game requiring players to sign up through their PSN account to get an optional in-game skin for Eve. Nonetheless, the devs themselves have been unable to provide an official confirmation regarding the exact reason why Stellar Blade is unavailable in over 120 countries right now.

Stellar Blade

The upcoming PC version of Stellar Blade also comes with a whole suite of PC-specific features such as unlocked framerate, AI upscaling via Nvidia’s DLSS 4 and AMD’s FSR 3, both Japanese and Chinese voiceovers, ultrawide display supports, higher resolution environment textures, and DualSense support for haptic feedback and trigger effects. The game also has a bonus Boss battle in the PC version, along with 25 new in-game outfits for the main character.

Shift Up, the developers of Stellar Blade has also previously stated that they expect far more sales on the PC platform than on the Playstation 5, where the game was first launched.
