How to Hide Your Headgear in New World

How to Hide Your Headgear in New World

Headgear comes in a variety of styles in New World. Some are more fashionable or simply mesh better with the rest of the outfit than others. For these reasons, players may find themselves with a less-than-desirable hat, helmet, or general headwear that isn’t to their liking as they level up and obtain higher-rated gear.

Amazon Games foresaw such style-ruining issues and implemented the ability to make those tricorne hats disappear, allowing the rest of the ensemble to shine in harmonious glory. Here’s how you can say goodbye to the goofy headpieces of early leveling without saying goodbye to the associated states.

How to hide your headgear in New World

To hide headgear in New World, highlight the equipped headwear and right- or left-click on it. From the drop-down menu, select “Change Skin.” Multiple selections will appear, allowing players to transmog the gear piece into any number of owned premium skins.

However, for this guide we are focusing on the “Hide Headgear” selection. Simply select this option and click “Confirm.” Now your New World avatar will be running around, their head seemingly unburdened, while still soaking up those sweet gear-based stat boosts.

New World is now available exclusively on PC via Steam.
