CD Projekt Red Brings Cyberpunk 2077 to Battle.net in Expanded Blizzard Partnership

CD Projekt Red announced during BlizzCon 2026 that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on Blizzard’s Battle.net platform later this year. The decision marks the open-world role-playing game’s debut on Blizzard’s digital storefront, broadening its reach on PC alongside existing listings on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Players will have the option to purchase either the standalone base game or the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, with the Phantom Liberty expansion available as a separate add-on for base game owners.

This announcement follows an initial collaboration between CD Projekt Red and Blizzard unveiled in late August 2026. That agreement scheduled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered and its upcoming expansion, Songs of the Past, for Battle.net, alongside a promotional Geralt of Rivia skin for Diablo 4. Blizzard confirmed that the Geralt cosmetic will serve as a complimentary bonus for players who purchase the new Witcher 3 expansion through Battle.net.

While CD Projekt Red confirmed the 2026 window during a “30 Years of Battle.net” panel, exact pricing and specific launch dates remain unannounced. Commercial momentum for the franchise remains high following recent releases on Nintendo Switch 2 and Apple silicon Macs. CD Projekt Red recently reported that Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed 40 million lifetime unit sales, while the Phantom Liberty expansion has reached 15 million units sold since its 2023 release.

The panel also highlighted additional upcoming crossover initiatives scheduled for 2027. Overwatch is slated to receive cosmetics based on both Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and its upcoming second season, while Diablo 4 will gain further Witcher-themed items. Netflix will premiere the second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on October 20, 2026.
