Ubisoft Details Title Update 1.06 Fixes and Adjustments for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Ubisoft has detailed Title Update 1.06 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, deploying targeted bug fixes and cosmetic toggles ahead of its official release on August 4, 2026. Developed from scratch on the Anvil Engine, this remake required game director Richard Knight and his development team to entirely reconstruct the 2013 original’s code base rather than modifying existing legacy assets. While that complete rebuilding process successfully modernized the pirate adventure for current-generation hardware, routine post-launch maintenance remains critical to stabilizing engine performance and resolving lingering structural bugs.

Headlining the update is the restored hood toggle feature, correcting a frustrating post-launch bug that had removed the customization option entirely. Players can once again manually decide whether Edward Kenway keeps his hood raised or lowered during open-world navigation and cinematic events, including the signature Leap of Faith sequence. Joining this fix is a new cosmetic option allowing players to conceal Edward’s blowpipe. Players can activate the new “Hide Gear” prompt directly within the inventory screen’s outfit menu to clean up Edward’s back silhouette.

On the technical side, Title Update 1.06 introduces meaningful stability improvements across single-player progression. Save file handling receives a helpful upgrade, expanding the automated save system so players can roll back across up to 10 sequential autosaves. The development team has also eliminated several reproducible crash scenarios, smoothed out erratic animation transitions, corrected camera collision bugs during dense combat, and polished various visual artifacts across Caribbean ports and open-sea encounters.

File download sizes differ considerably depending on hardware architecture. Xbox Series X/S players face the heaviest patch size at 15.2 GB, followed by PlayStation 5 at 5.03 GB. Standard PC installations require 3.7 GB of space, while the Steam client offers the smallest download at 1.8 GB.
