Based on a new store listing for the most awaited videogame of all time or GTA 6, the open world title is confirmed to run much better on the PS5 Pro with ‘more stable FPS’, although this isn’t really a surprise considering the PS5 Pro is the most powerful console that’s available in the industry today. The full description on the PS5 Pro version of GTA 6 is the following:
“Optimization for PS5 Pro: Enjoy improved performance, more stable frame rates (FPS), and even sharper resolutions on the most powerful console on the market.”
This also indirectly suggests that the game running on the base PS5 or the Xbox Series X may not provide an ideal experience and technical problems like stuttering or other issues could creep up on those consoles. Of course, when looking at the unbelievable technical scale of GTA 6, it’s only expected that current-gen consoles, even the PS5 Pro isn’t even close to being capable of running the game at 60 FPS on maxed out visual fidelity.
But perhaps that’s what the next-gen versions of the consoles, namely the PS6 and Xbox Project Helix, are for and as the former is expected to arrive as early as next year (maybe), one of their biggest USPs would be the technical capability to run GTA 6 at really high graphical settings with a locked 60 FPS experience.
GTA 6 was confirmed as PS5 Pro Enhanced a few days ago with possibly implementing PSSR to boost image clarity further.
But with all of that said, GTA 6 sure won’t look the absolute best it can look on either of the PS5s or on the Xbox Series X, and so, players on the PC platform has nothing to worry about as GTA 6 is practically destined to look it’s absolute best, in all aspects, in all kinds of maxed out Ray Traced glory, only on a high-end PC, when it comes out for the platform in the (hopefully) near future.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
