Bandai Namco has just released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 which showcases many aspects of the upcoming title like it’s brand new characters, time travel-based narrative, the new gameplay including the combat system and many more. So if you’re hyped for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 which was earlier known as Dragon Ball Age 1000, the new trailer will provide glimpses of what you can expect from the game and it’s safe to say, if you’ve enjoyed the first Xenoverse or Xenoverse 2, you’ll love this one too. Check out the new trailer below:
Basically, all the narrative and gameplay traits from the first two Xenoverse titles are on full display in Xenoverse 3, which means there may not be any attempts at reinvention or anything that’s apart from the usual mold of the series. The world titled ‘West City’ feels much more expansive than earlier game hubs and even has a cool cyberpunk flair which makes sense considering Xenoverse 3 takes place in a faraway future, possibly the farthest we’ve ever seen the series get. Overall, the art direction of Xenoverse 3 feels much more vivid and colorful than anything we’ve seen from the series so far.
Xenoverse 3 features an older version of Bulma as a sort of guide for the new protagonist before the game brings back several fan favorite characters from the iconic anime such as Future Trunks, Piccolo and more. We also get to see what seems like the full cast of new characters who’ll be fighting alongside you in the game and they’re all equally charming and adorable, and some of them may even have their own arc.
Then we get to see the combat which is the centerpiece of the game and it’s fairly similar to both Xenoverse 2 and the first one, except for being far more visually appealing and fluid. However, one of Xenoverse 3’s brand new gameplay feature is that players will be able to create a blue flame and absorb it within to summon their “inner Trunks” and can use all of the signature moves of the character. And in the same way, as shown be the trailer, players can transform into other characters from the anime such as Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Vegeta and more along with their complete moveset and abilities.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is expected to arrive for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam in next year.
