Palworld is coming out with version 1.0 in July for PC and other platforms, as we can see the game still didn’t die despite getting the big Nintendo ultimatum with the legal battle that happened. This suggests that something might have happened behind closing doors, giving more power to the theory that maybe Palworld is indeed funded by Sony money to become a rival against Pokemon. However, Palworld will just remain a legally distinct copy of multiple games, some of them suggesting that “AI” was used for the creation of some assets. At the very least, the game is quite asset flippy.
Palworld coming soon
The game is out, and I would argue the period of popularity has already died out, nobody is talking about it or even caring about it in the first place. The discourse has gone back to Pokemon and its current flops, although some people have faith that Pokemon Champions can fix these issues by giving us an interesting format to play with. Palworld does not really offer anything related to this aside from being a risque Ark Survival Evolved with legally distinct anime franchises and tropes plastered in.
Its definitely a very derivative game where you don’t miss out on anything if you don’t play it, and it was made to capitalize on the discontent of the Pokemon fandom. If Pokemon fans are unhappy with their franchise, I think that they should treat themselves to some Digimon goodness, Cyber Sleuth recently sold more than 3 million copies, and the newest title, Time Stranger, has been a blast for both fans and new players alike. People should have standards and play things that show quality and care, and while Pokemon suffers from issues currently, that does not mean that you should limit yourself to a purposely inflammatory ripoff.
