007 First Light

Besides GTA 6 which is surely the most anticipated videogame of all time, there’s a couple of other titles that easily rank as some of the most hyped ones this year and one of the biggest names among them is IO Interactive’s upcoming 007 First Light which is set to release this month. And even though it hasn’t arrived yet, the devs have already revealed that a sequel to the soon-to-be-released title is also a possibility, which is pretty much how things go in the industry anyway.

In a recent interview with The Game Business, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak has shared insights regarding the possibility of a sequel to 007 First Light:

“But from Amazon’s side, I’ll be so bold and say, they can see it’s a great game. And having invested and taken over that IP, they obviously want to make sure that everything that comes out is great. So, once they got into it and played, they became huge supporters. And we are very grateful for that.”

“There’s no doubt that we all want to see how this is doing. It’s not only Amazon MGM side, is also IO Interactive side. Is our character going to be well received? Is there going to be a community that likes him and wants to see more?”

Amazon is the current IP holder of the James Bond franchise and so their views as well as receptions definitely have a lot of influence on a possible sequel.

And lastly, the CEO stated that if First Light turns out to be everything that the devs hope it would be, then a sequel is definitely plausible.

“We are so blessed that we are in a place where we can pick and choose what we want to do. So, if this goes really well and it’s a beloved thing from the community, why not?”

Also, check out the game’s final PC System Requirements to get a clear idea on how the upcoming title will look and run on your system. The visuals look pretty crisp, detailed and hopefully optimized to run well enough on most systems out there.

007: First Light will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on May 27. You can start pre-ordering your copy of 007: First Light right now to get a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
