Behaviour Interactive is doubling down on its most successful experimental features by bringing back both the Attack on Titan crossover and the chaotic 2v8 game mode on April 28, 2026. The limited-time event, scheduled to run through May 19, marks the first time these two major draws have shared the spotlight, offering a significant content injection for a player base that has long requested the return of the anime-themed cosmetics.
The 2v8 mode, which originally debuted in July 2024, fundamentally shifts the Dead by Daylight meta by pairing two Killers against a massive team of eight Survivors. For this iteration, the developers are introducing several balance passes to keep the gameplay loop from becoming stagnant. The Deathslinger is receiving quality-of-life buffs to his reload speed, while The Oni is seeing a slight reduction in his power uptime to give Survivors a fighting chance during high-intensity chases. Additionally, the Temple of Purgation and Ironworks of Misery maps have been reworked specifically to accommodate the larger player count.
On the cosmetic front, the Attack on Titan collaboration expands beyond its original 2022 offerings. The highlight of the new collection is a Legendary Outfit for The Trapper that transforms him into the iconic Attack Titan. Survivors are also receiving a suite of new gear, including “Cleaning Levi” attire for Jake Park and Mikasa’s Dark Uniform for Yui Kimura. These additions sit alongside the original ten outfits, which will be available for purchase for the duration of the three-week event.
Beyond simple aesthetics, Behaviour is tweaking the core mechanics of the 2v8 experience to address long-standing community feedback regarding “tunneling” and pacing. The Cage System is being overhauled to reduce relocation times, and a new “bleed-out” pause will trigger when a cage moves, giving the Survivor team a much-needed window to coordinate rescues. It is a calculated move to ensure that the increased chaos of ten-player matches remains manageable rather than frustrating for the casual audience.
