It seems the wait for the upcoming and hotly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced which is the modernized version of the 2013 title is nearly over as it’s official reveal is reportedly set for the coming week. According to ResetERA user BlackBate, the announcement for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is currently scheduled for April 16th which is just around the corner.
This also coincides with Insider Gaming’s earlier report which stated that Ubisoft is planning to reveal the remake sometimes in “mid-April” and that the action adventure title will possibly be released in FY 2027 Q2, which is somewhere between the month of June to August in this year. And as the marketing campaign of GTA 6 is set to kick off this summer which will possibly obscure pretty much all other games this year so it makes a lot of sense that Ubisoft would want to get their upcoming game out before that time window.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has also been rated 18 for it’s use of violence and bad language, which is really on par with the original release. It’s also revealed that the upcoming title will enable players to make in-game purchases possibly in the form of DLCs which indicates the original game’s Freedom Cry campaign may also be part of the remake offering.
The upcoming Remake will also reportedly contain a significantly overhauled combat system with an emphasize on RPG mechanics and gears that lean heavily into the more modern entries of the series like the post-Assassin’s Creed Origins batch of titles. However, the Black Flag Remake is also reported to cut out the modern day segments which were present in the original game, a move that’s sure to upset many players as those missions had a significant impact on the overarching narrative of the franchise and connected the past events with the present day happenings.
While at the same time, the Remake is reported to include bonus story contents to the Edward Kenway sections such as additional story missions focused on pirate Mary Read which didn’t make it to the original Black Flag in 2013.
