Embark Studios is overhaulng the crafting systems in ARC Raiders to address mounting player feedback regarding menu fatigue and gameplay friction. The developer recently detailed these changes in a new technical blog post, confirming that the “Flashpoint” update is specifically designed to reduce the time players spend navigating UI screens between raids.
The centerpiece of this update is the “Acquire Resources” button, a streamlined interface addition that consolidates several previously scattered functions. Rather than hunting through multiple vendor menus or storage tabs, players can now view all available materials, recycle junk, refine raw goods, or purchase missing components directly from the crafting view. This change targets a specific “pain point” where teams were often left waiting in the lobby for ten minutes or more while a single squadmate managed their inventory.
Beyond immediate quality-of-life fixes, Embark signaled that this UI refresh is merely the first step in a broader effort to retune the game’s loop. Production director Caio Braga noted that the studio is now shifting its focus toward the endgame experience. Many veteran Raiders have voiced concerns regarding the lack of high-stakes content once the main progression hits a ceiling. In response, the team is reportedly developing more challenging encounters to keep the community engaged long-term.
Players likely won’t have to wait long to see the next phase of this evolution. The upcoming “Riven Tides” update, slated for release later this month, is expected to introduce the Volcano Rise map and a new large-scale ARC boss. While rumors of a massive unit known as “The Emperor” continue to circulate, the studio remains focused on ensuring the core mechanics—like the recently updated Scrappy the rooster—provide enough value to justify the risks of extraction. As ARC Raiders moves further into its second year, the shift from adding raw content to refining player flow suggests a developer increasingly tuned into the daily habits of its user base.
