Death Stranding 2 is an amazing game that everyone loves, and it managed to make a ton of money on PC despite the fact that Sony is abandoning the platform for unspecified reasons. Speculators are making wild logic leaps to bring a reason as to why this might be the case, maybe games are under performing, maybe Sony just does not like to have another competitor. Perhaps Sony became aware that publishing games on PC is harmful for their own console environment, and they need to preserve the legacy of the PlayStation if they wanna keep selling, whether they like it or not.
Death Stranding 2 is a big hit
The industry is going through a wild period of bad games, okay games, and games done by passion by small developers like you or me. And as always, its the small games that end up winning such as Esoteric Ebb and others in the market that are becoming heavy hitters in an industry craving something new. Death Stranding 2 is also wild because it comes from the hand of Kojima and company, who have tons of years in the industry and have created true pieces of art.
Indie developers on the other hand are just starting, and they pose a threat to the bigger ones that fail to comply with the demands of gamers who are seeking for quality. More and more people are realizing that the better games come in smaller, cheaper packages, meanwhile triple A corporations are just pumping AI slop with a 70 dollar price tag in some cases, just like Crimson Desert. Nowadays, one has to go for the known names like Kojima’s Death Stranding 2, and the smaller creators who do their best to exist by still providing quality experiences, instead of open, lazy, and derivative open world AI slop nobody asked for.
