Xbox has already started to go back to their days of keeping some of the platform’s hottest titles exclusive, starting from this year’s Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, however, there’s currently no info on whether Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls 6 will also follow suit or not. When asked during a recent BBC Interview on Gamescom 2026 if the successor of Skyrim would launch on the Playstation 5 or not, the CEO has avoided answering the question altogether. Instead, Sharma shared her thoughts on the importance of exclusives for any gaming platform:
“Every platform needs some form of exclusive experiences and content. And so, what we’ve shared is Gears (of War: E-Day) and Clockwork. We’re going to do the best we can, all in context of the business being healthy, and so we have to balance that,” Sharma said.
When pressed to clarify again on the platform plans for The Elder Scrolls 6, Sharma simply opted to call it a “beautiful game.”
Besides GTA 6, if there’s another game that can easily generate a monumental level of hype and anticipation, for all the good reasons, is none other than The Elder Scrolls 6 which is the successor of Skyrim, a genre-redefining experience that’s widely and rightfully considered as one of the greatest games of all time.
When Skyrim first came out, it basically rewrote and redefined the rules of the Open World RPG gameplay sandbox and players and fans alike would expect The Elder Scrolls 6 to do the same or even more when it comes out.
Considering the sheer magnitude and possible impact of the open world RPG experience that’s going to be The Elder Scrolls 6, it’s only expected that Bethesda would want to release any official information on the game including it’s launch window and targeted platforms, in a way that’s going to be most effective for the title so that makes Sharma not wanting to talk about it now perfectly understandable as the timing may not be ideal yet.
