Konami has released Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House, a digital tie-in comic serving as an official prequel to the upcoming survival horror game. Written by Townfall lead writer and game director Jon McKellan with artwork by David Roach, the story offers fans an early look at the narrative groundwork behind the series’ next major installment before its planned September 24 release.
The prequel focuses on Douglas, a harbormaster stationed in the Scottish town of St. Amelia. According to the official synopsis, Douglas stumbles upon an impossible stairwell descending beneath the harbor, uncovering a dark presence hidden deep below the water. While long-time fans will recognize the name from Silent Hill 3‘s private detective Douglas Cartland, the harbormaster appears to be an entirely original character, following the franchise’s penchant for reusing distinct names across unrelated entries.
Developed by No Code and Screen Burn alongside publisher Annapurna Interactive, Silent Hill: Townfall shifts the franchise away from its traditional American backdrop to 1990s Scotland. It marks the second major international setting for the series following Silent Hill f, which took players to 1960s Japan. By using The Dock House to establish St. Amelia’s local lore beforehand, the development team aims to build anticipation for the broader mystery waiting in the full game.
The digital version of Silent Hill: Townfall – The Dock House is available to read online now through official channels. Horror fans looking to add a physical copy to their collections can expect printed editions to arrive on store shelves starting September 30.
