Pocketpair has confirmed that the upcoming 1.1 update for Palworld will include a major feature fans have requested for a long time, though the studio is not yet ready to reveal what it is. Speaking to GamesRadar+ during Gamescom 2026, publishing and communications lead John “Bucky” Buckley disclosed that the addition was originally considered during the development of the 1.0 update. However, the studio ultimately shelved the idea for the full release to avoid overloading the update’s scope and delaying launch targets.
Unlike July’s massive 1.0 launch, which introduced 72 new Pals, the Sunreach region, and structural overhauls to base building, Version 1.1 will take a more modest approach. Buckley emphasized that the patch is meant to address targeted improvements rather than introducing sweeping world changes. Ideas such as expansive new continents or significant level-cap increases are explicitly off the table for this release, as the team aims to deliver smaller, faster-paced content updates following the official launch.
The decision to revisit previously shelved concepts stems from Pocketpair’s shift in production philosophy following the game’s exit from Early Access. With the fundamental mechanics now locked into place, the developers feel comfortable exploring secondary systems and quality-of-life additions that fell outside their initial roadmap. Buckley noted that the team internally views the 1.0 release as a “soft prologue,” signaling that long-term support for the survival title is moving into a new phase of development.
While Pocketpair recently solicited community feedback across social channels, garnering nearly 1,700 suggestions within a single day, the core feature planned for 1.1 predates those requests. The studio has not provided a release window or target date for the patch, choosing instead to focus on internal iteration before locking in a public schedule.
