Nintendo has announced two new amiibo figures based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time during its recent 40th Anniversary Nintendo Direct showcase. The new collectibles, depicting Young Link and Young Zelda, are tied directly to the newly announced Ocarina of Time remake coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Both figures feature distinct designs where each character is posed sitting on environment-themed bases: Link reaches out toward his fairy companion Navi, while Zelda holds the iconic Ocarina of Time.
Scanning either figure into the upcoming remake unlocks nostalgic cosmetic rewards for players. Each amiibo grants a special in-game mask modeled after the low-polygon character designs from the original 1998 Nintendo 64 release. This cosmetic touch offers long-time fans a subtle visual nod to the series’ early 3D era while navigating the updated remake’s modernized environments.
While the Ocarina of Time remake is scheduled to launch on November 5, 2026, the new amiibo figures will arrive slightly later, with Nintendo targeting a release window in early 2027. Official pricing details have not been finalized, but retail expectations place both individual figures around the standard $20 price point seen in recent character releases.
The announcement continues Nintendo’s established strategy of pairing major software releases with physical collectibles. The same broadcast also revealed a limited-edition Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 console and matching Pro Controller, alongside recent tie-in figures for Splatoon Raiders and the remastered Super Mario Galaxy titles.
