Castlevania is getting a huge sale event right now, Konami seems to be ready to revive the lord of darkness with a new entry, yet the new one doesn’t look like quite the same Castlevania games we are used to. Personally, since this new entry is being developed by the same indie team behind Dead Cells, I don’t think it will end up being a proper Castlevania game, but I wish I could be proved wrong. There is many cool details in it, but there’s also some glaring issues with it such as the speed and type of gameplay that simply don’t scream Castlevania.

If you were looking for some games that matters, then the collections are the best way to get your feet wet into the series. There is a ton of games with tons of love and quality put onto them, yet there is a strange lack of Symphony of the Night and Rondo Of Blood, those being the best games of the series by far. Rondo of Blood really the classic game series because its too good to even be surpassed. The same thing happened with Symphony of the Night when it released on PS1, new concept, yet it just killed the future metroidvanias.
When you do something too good, when you reveal your ace early on, you end up killing any potential future you can have with a series. That’s why it is always important to end with a bang and ensure that no other sequel happens after, if someone told me that Symphony of the Night was the true ending of the series, I would have believed them, cause it really feels like the best way to end things. Alas, money talks, and greed will revive the lord of darkness once more.
