Big Walk

Big Walk is out on PC, and it currently sits at a convenient 25% discount on release date, this is a new cooperative game that holds a very unique style to it. This is made by the same people who did Untitled Goose Game, and the main mechanic behind it is the proximity voice chat. Of course, you have this very big world to explore with your friends, and the parties that you can make can also be huge. Ideally it feels like the right game to play as a group of four players, because if there’s many it can end up ruining the fun.

Big Walk looks huge

They also seem to have nailed the atmospheric feel of the game, at least from the few screenshots and videos that exist. This is a different game because the puzzles that it tasks you with doing can sometimes be a bit more challenging, it is definitely a game for people who like games like Peak. Definitely not a game for everyone if you just want something more challenging, but if you want a chill experience, Big Walk definitely delivers in this front. The atmosphere is pretty good, and the proximity voice chat seems to be well made.

You can try to communicate via walkie talkie, and sometimes you can even lose it and get separated from the team, of course, since its a cooperative game, you can count on your friends to search for you. There’s multiple ways to solve puzzles and challenges, and cooperation is almost always a need. Many people tend to dismiss games like this as “Friend Slop”, but slop is a term that exclusively applies to “AI”. Games like this have soul unlike whatever the slop machine produces, as it is not stitching everything together and stealing from everyone, Big Walk is a pretty humane experience.
