Dinoblade just got a launch trailer, and it is also a PC exclusive, quite the silly one at that if you ask me. It’s basically Dark Souls, but it focuses way more on the bosses and everything is in the paleolithic, which is quite crazy if you ask me. However, don’t expect it to be polished or good, it just looks good on the surface but in reality its quite the buggy game. At this point I feel like this might be a social critique converted into a game to show how bad the state of things are for the medium.
Dinoblade released
And it released to plenty of fanfare too, but unsurprisingly its mostly just memetic, at the very least the person behind it put some effort into it, and they seemed to have fun doing it. This is a good thing despite the final quality of the game, which we still don’t know if it will be the true final release either, this is a single developer project, and the main skill of Jean Nguyen is animating cool stuff. For a first timer project this is great if you ask me, I wonder if it can grow into something more advanced.
There is a ton of potential for a game like Dinoblade, and it shows that the indie side of things tends to get very crazy when it comes to making weird concepts shine. Even if the quality isn’t there yet I like the spirit, and I also like the passion put behind it, if there is passion even the most weird idea can work out. Of course, there is fair criticism about the game, the fact that it costs around 17 dollars is quite crazy for a tech demo, but one has to justify the Unreal Engine license.
