Backyard Baseball is back with a new game on PC, this release was quite unexpected because people didn’t expect a new game on the series that was reminiscent of the old one. However there is some issues, while it is clearly made with love and care, it still feels rather incomplete and the price it commands is rather high. 40 dollars for something that isn’t fully finished feels quite messy, and hopefully they can justify the price with some free updates. Backyard Baseball has a very long story, and it is about to become a 30 year old series, it even had games on the PS2 and Game Boy Advance.
Backyard Baseball is out
Not to be confused with the old game, this is an all new experience that is conscious of the modern days we live in, aiming again at the young kiddos who might be interested in trying stuff that we loved in the past. This trend of retro revivals can get tiresome, but it is a great opportunity for the new generation to pick up on the things we liked back then when gaming was in its golden years. Its been a long time, gaming is looking kinda bleak, but at least we can reminisce.
Backyard Baseball comes back with similar controls and feel, which is great, but it also comes with some polishing issues that need to be addressed, charging so much for this game does not feel justified. Still, with some patches that can come out anytime soon to address the control issues, it will definitely be a game that is worth paying for. Even if you don’t play it yourself, you can show it to someone else to share the nostalgia that the original releases brought to you. If you don’t wanna buy it yet and wait for a discount, wishlist it.
