Halo campaign evolved

The official Halo Twitter/X page caused a bit of a stir this week because they mentioned gamers needed PlayStation Plus subscriptions to access splitscreen co-op in Halo Campaign Evolved. Well, they have clarified that no paid subsciption is needed now.

The Halo Twitter/X page released a new statement claiming you just need to have a PlayStation account to access splitscreen co-op. Both players don’t need to pay for PlayStation Plus like they said before! Read the full statement down below.

“We incorrectly stated that PlayStation Plus is required for local co-op splitscreen play. Local splitscreen co-op requires a PlayStation account for each player but does not require a PlayStation Plus account.”

People can calm down and play the game offline without needing an annoying online subscription. This game only includes the campaign, so online multiplayer isn’t included anyway.

Halo Campaign Evolved will be out July 28, 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
